Thread Painting - Tweetie Set

What did I do today? Welllll… I took my very first official quilting class at Aunt Mary’s Quilt Shop called “Thread Painting” with Judy Irish. I’m a complete novice when it comes to free motion quilting, so I was pretty nervous, but Judy and my classmates were so disarming, and I really found her free spirit liberating. So here is my handiwork, after four hours of experience. I used some of my own designs from our TWEETIE mod set as a template, and I am feeling like with lots of practice I might be able to get a hang of it

Okay, maybe with LOTS and LOTS of practice. It was still fun even if I had no idea what I was doing… like coloring with crayons on blank paper.

  del.icio.us this!

Oh, I love it. I have a friend who owns one of these machines and she is very good at it but I have never seen anyone do it with that kind of untraditional pattern before. So CUTE!
    PS I tagged you, haha

Well done, you are very brave to show every one your first attempts at thread painting. I see you posted the pictures in october 2008, so this coment may be a little late. I began thread painting last year and have been totally absorbed by it. You may like to look at my website if you have time. I hope you have had time to do more yourself, it is such fun and the results are fairly easy to achieve. Your designs are just lovely. Good luck with your design bussiness.!
